"As pessoas precisam perceber que eu já não sou uma criança, [mas quero crescer] ao meu próprio ritmo. Não quero começar a cantar sobre coisas como sexo, drogas e palavrões", contou Bieber.
Ele acrescentou que quer tornar-se num adulto responsável: "Não vou fazer a vontade a ninguém e tornar-me no que [algumas] pessoas querem que eu me torne, nem vou andar por aí em festas e ser visto com álcool".
À "V Magazine", Justin Bieber disse ainda que quer ser a maior estrela da pop de sempre, seguindo as pisadas do seu maior ídolo, Michael Jackson.
"Para conseguir isso tenho de me esforçar para ser o melhor, tenho de ser bom para as pessoas e tratá-las com respeito, e trabalhar o mais arduamente possível", afirmou.
Bieber prepara atualmente o seu terceiro disco de estúdio, "Believe", que deverá ser lançado ainda este ano e que contará com as participações de Kanye West e Drake.

"To achieve this I have to strive to be the best, got to be good to people and treat them with respect, and work as hard as possible," he said.
Bieber is currently preparing her third studio album, "Believe,"due out later this year and will feature the participation of Kanye West and Drake.
